Abobo: de nouvelles manifestations des élèves aujourd'hui

This morning in the commune of Abobo, several students decided to stop classes before noon. Also wanting to dislodge their comrades, they confronted the police. But they don't intend to stop there.

On Friday, March 12, several students from the commune of Abobo decided not to attend school on the grounds that the country was in mourning. They had also decided to dislodge their comrades who wanted to acquire knowledge. As a result, these students stopped classes before 11 a.m. and went home.

This Monday, March 15, these same students once again express their interest in not taking classes. A student from the Nanti School Group told us that "we will not be taught until our mayor is buried." So here's the reason for this new event.

But that's not all, not only do these students not want to take classes, but they have also decided, once again, to prevent their peers from other schools from pursuing the search for knowledge. However, they clashed with the police, who came to dissipate the crowd. But not enough, given the number of student protesters.

To avoid further spillovers in the coming days, some schools, such as Anador College in Abobo, have decided that their students will return on Wednesday, March 17.

One really wonders what is going on in the Ivorian education system? After the funeral of their Mayor, what will these students find as an excuse to demonstrate?
